Organic Face Primer

Organic Face Primer

The one thing that makes many make-up products so effective is the mountain of chemicals that companies pack into the products. Sacrificing your natural health for enhanced beauty isn’t worth 12 hour of flawless skin, on that we can all agree! Thankfully, natural wellness is becoming increasingly more mainstream which means that our options for natural and organic make-up products is becoming increasingly more abundant. Below, you’ll find 10 of our favorite natural and organic make up primer options that actually work along with one DIY recipe for those of you who like to keep it super simple.

  1. tarte, Clean Slate Flawless 12-Hr Brightening Primer ($31): Formulated without parabens, petrochemicals or anything else totally gross, tarte’s brightening primer is the best moisturizing primer option out there. It’s ultra hydrating and gives a glowy finish that’ll keep your make up in place all day.

  2. Korres Pomegranate Mattifying Primer ($33): This Korres primer is the best primer for oily skin, especially if you’re into natural primers that take away your shine without taking away your radiance. Plus, we already know the major heath benefits your skin reaps with antioxidant rich pomegranate.

  3. bareMinerals Prime Time Neutralizing Foundation Primer ($24): If you’re looking for the best face primer for dry skin that will combat flakiness and correct uneven skin tone, try this bareMinerals neutralizing primer. It has a yellow color correcting base that’ll take the red right out of your skin, promise!

  4. Honest Beauty Everything Primer ($27): Whatever Jessica Alba is selling when it comes to beauty, we’re buying. The ageless wonder woman has put together the perfect everyday natural primer It’s formulated with hyaluronic acid so that your skin retains its natural moisture all day while the peony root adds plumpness.

  5. Mineral Fusion Face Primer ($20): With anti-aging ingredients like pomegranate, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, red tea and white tea, this face primer fills in fine lines and speeds along your skin’s natural rejuvenation. Because it has so few ingredients (and those ingredients are completely natural), this is one of the best face primers for sensitive skin.

  6. Shea Moisture Face Primer ($17): Once we learned our beloved coconut oil is comedogenic, meaning that it has a high probability of causing breakouts, Shea butter became our go-to for everything face moisture-related. It’s lightweight, non-comedogenic and totally natural (naturally). This face primer harnesses the inherent hydration of Shea butter to restore moisture while also giving you a fresh, clear canvas to apply your make up on.

  7. 100% Pure Luminous Primer ($27): 50% make-up, 50% skincare, 100% Pure’s Luminous Primer gives you a glow-from-within while simultaneously prepping your skin for flawless make-up application. It’s a great primer for all skin types because of its gentle ingredients, many of which are certified organic!

  8. Juice Beauty Phyto-Pigments Illuminating Primer ($36): Juice Beauty is Gwyneth Paltrow’s make-up brand of choice so there’s no way we couldn’t include the earthy goddess’ rec on our list. Juice Beauty uses coconut alkanes in place of silicones in their primer which helps naturally blur fine lines and erase wrinkles (at least for the day!).

  9. Lorac I’m So Sensitive Soothing Face Primer ($32): Another prime natural primer for sensitive skin, Lorac’s version contains soothing plant extracts that help combat inflammation and redness so your make up goes on (and stays on) healthy, happy skin.

  10. Smashbox Photo Finish More Than Primer Blemish Control ($42): If you like your make up products to pull double duty, this cult favorite is a must-have for your make-up bag. Not only does the green help counteract redness, it also contains salicylic acid to help control your acne all day long.
