If you have ever suffered from acne you know you are willing to try anything! Anything that will promise you that will get rid of it and that will let you have that clear complexion you have always dreamt of.
First, we have to understand why our skin is reacting and generating acne on our face, here are some possible causes.
1. Skin cells, sebum, and hair can clump together into a plug. This plug gets infected with bacteria and swelling results. A pimple starts to develop when the plug begins to break down.
2. A range of factors triggers acne, but the main cause is thought to be a rise in androgen levels. Rising androgen levels cause the oil glands under the skin to grow. The enlarged gland produces more sebum. Excessive sebum can break down cellular walls in the pores, causing bacteria to grow.
3. Some medications that contain androgen and lithium
4. Greasy cosmetics
5. Hormonal changes
6. Emotional stress
If you fall within one or two, this can be easily fixed with natural remedies, now let's move on to them.
1. Oil cleansing at night
I know it can be scary! The majority of people with acne has oily skin, so just the thought of cleaning your face with oil can be something you can't understand. But believe me, you will love it! It removes all the makeup and it is super nourishing for your skin, just be sure to look for an oil that's organic and right for you! This might take some trial and error.
But most importantly, your oil production will start to normalize. This is because your skin will not need to overcompensate with oil production like it did when you cleansed with soap.
2. Honey in the morning
In the mornings, wash my face with honey. With slightly dampened fingers, massage about 1/2 teaspoon of raw honey over your dry face and then rinse. The antibacterial properties of honey work to inhibit breakouts. Additionally, it removes excess oil but leaves skin moisturized.
3. Tone your face
Mornings and evenings, spray your face with a mixture of 2/3 alcohol-free which hazel and 1/3 raw apple cider vinegar. The apple cider contains gentle exfoliating acids to calm acne and it balances the skin’s pH.
4. Spot treatment
Mix raw honey with enough cinnamon to form a paste, add some freshly grated nutmeg, and store it in a small container in your bathroom. Leave this spot treatment on for a couple of hours. If you want to use it as a full face mask, leave it on for only 10-15 minutes.
So, why should you try a natural way?
Although these homemade acne cures may seem crazy, it is not as crazy as letting your skin absorb toxic, stripping, chemical-based products. Normalizing the skin’s oil production will allow your skin to cure itself from inside out and let your clear face shine.
